Tampere UniversityFinland
My name is Shweta Mishra (PhD Physics). I have completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s
degree in Physics from University of Pune, India. During this period, I have worked on
physics and chemistry of nanomaterials and its applications in sensing and
anticounterfeiting. Later I moved to Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (BITS
Pilani), India where I enrolled for my PhD programme (2018-2023). My primary area of
research is experimental condensed matter physics including liquid crystals, nanoscience,
polymers, composites, thin films and its applications especially in display and sensors. In
my doctoral thesis research, I have primarily worked on interface of liquid crystals and
nanomaterials. After my PhD, I joined Light Robots Group at Tampere University, Finland
in 2024 with focus on soft robotic systems using liquid crystalline materials. Recently, I
received Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions (MSCA-PF-2025) funding for my proposed
work on multifunctional soft matter display. The results of my research till date have been
published in the form of research articles (13+) in the international journals of repute and
discussed with the scientific community in international and national conferences. I have
won best presentation awards at different conferences and various awards during regular
curriculum during my bachelor’s and master’s degree.
